“I’m pretty happy to get this position like this,” Fluker said Friday. “An opportunity like this usually only comes around once. For this one to come around twice is nothing short of a miracle.”

Fluker is replacing Bill Whiting, who had to resign because of an increased teaching commitment at Cal State Northridge. Fluker served as an assistant at Cal State Northridge for four years and also was an assistant at Calabasas High in 1988.

Chatsworth advanced to the City Section 4-A Division quarterfinals and lost to Fremont on a last-second basket. Eddie Miller and Jerome Joseph are returning All-Valley players for the Chancellors.
