SEASON AT A GLANCE: Skieresz, the 1994 state Division II cross-country champion, ranks second in the state in the 3,200 meters (10 minutes 31.60 seconds) and third in the 1,600 (4:52.70).

WEEK AT A GLANCE: Skieresz placed second in the 1,600 (school-record 4:52.70) and 3,200 (10:41.41) in the Southern Section Division I championships at Cerritos College on Saturday, but will will run only the 3,200 in Friday’s Southern Section Masters Meet at Cerritos. “It was a really hard decision,” she said. “But since I got the school record in the 1,600 and I’m running really well in the 3,200, I want to see if I can lower my time in that event.”
