SEASON AT A GLANCE: The two-time state cross-country champion ran school records of 10 minutes 16.42 seconds in the 3,200 meters and 4:52.70 in the 1,600 to move to third and seventh on the all-time region lists. She won the 3,200 in the prestigious Arcadia Invitational in April and placed second behind Anaheim Esperanza’s Courtney Pugmire in the 1,600 and 3,200 in last month’s Southern Section Division I finals. On Saturday, the Arizona-bound Skieresz finished second behind Santa Rosa’s Julia Stamps in the 3,200 in the State championships at Cerritos College.

THE REST OF THE TEAM:

Dawn Anderson, Newbury Park, Sr., placed second in the shotput and third in the discus in the Southern Section Division I championships. Nicole Campbell, Ventura, So., won the Southern Section Division II and Masters Meet titles in the 800 and placed fourth in the State meet with a region-leading 2:13.46. Kadrina Coffee, Palmdale, Fr., led the region in the 200 (25.04) and 400 (56.47) and ran a leg on the Falcons’ 1,600 relay team that finished fifth (3:47.78) in the State championships. Liz Giltner, Chaminade, So., cleared a region-leading 5-8 to place sixth in the high jump in the State finals. Stacy Hebert, Buena, Jr., timed 43.97 to place third in the 300 low hurdles in the Southern Section Division II championships. Neisha Henderson, Cleveland, Sr., won the City Section title in the triple jump and placed sixth in the State meet with a region-leading 38-3 3/4. Kim Mortensen, Thousand Oaks, Jr., finished fourth in the 3,200 in the State meet and ranked second in the region in the 1,600 (school-record 4:59.23) and 3,200 (10:42.85). Michelle Perry, Quartz Hill, So., placed second in the 100 highs, seventh in the long jump and eighth in the 100 in the Southern Section Division I finals. Andrea Wasden, Rio Mesa, Sr., led the region in the 100 highs (14.39) and 300 lows (43.73) and advanced to the finals of both events in the State championships before an injury forced her to withdraw.
