Foothill Coach Sedoo to Be Honored

Gerry Sedoo, who is retiring as Foothill’s baseball coach, will be honored Saturday with a exhibition game and party at the school’s baseball field from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sedoo has been Foothill’s coach for 37 seasons.

Former Knight players will compete in a game beginning at 12:30 p.m. All former players, coaches, parents and friends are invited.

Southern California College tennis players Ross and Wendy Andel were named NAIA All-American scholar athletes. Ross Andel, a psychology major, has a 3.87 grade-point average. Wendy, his wife, a pre-physical therapy major, has a 3.92 GPA. Both are juniors.

First baseman Brooks Morris, who hit .299 and was second team All-Orange Empire League for Cypress College this season, has signed a letter of intent to play for UC Santa Barbara, Cypress Coach Scott Pickler said Wednesday.

Pickler also said former Pacifica High pitcher Jeff Wozniak has signed with Cal Baptist. Wozniak had one win and two saves for the season with a 2.79 ERA.

With the two signings, Pickler said, 11 players from this year’s team have received scholarships.
