State All-Stars Split Games in Tournament
The California All-Star team split their games, beating the Maryland All-Stars, 9-1, in an afternoon game then losing to the Oklahoma All-Star second team, 3-2, in the Sunbelt High School All-Star Classic Tuesday at Oklahoma Baptist College.
In the first game, which lasted only five innings, Brian Oliver of Antioch High went three for three with two runs batted in. Craig Kuzmic of La Quinta was one for three. Darryl Hussman of Quartz Hill was the winning pitcher.
Oliver was the only player for California who could get any offense going in the second game, hitting a home run in the third inning. The California All-Stars play the Oklahoma first team Wednesday.
