Clifford Husser Wileman, a retired Fillmore citrus rancher, has died of a stroke. He was 89.

Wileman came to Fillmore in 1925 from the San Fernando Valley. He married his high school sweetheart, Helen, in 1931. Wileman worked as a service representative for Rudkin Motor Service in Fillmore until 1972, when he retired and began growing citrus.

Family members said that in his younger years, he enjoyed working on cars and boats.

“He was really athletic,” said his son, David, of Highland, Calif. “He would take us up to Lake Shasta, and he would water ski, even into his 50s.”
