AID : Concert Raises $10,000
Nearly $10,000 was raised at a Santa Monica benefit last week for a Marina del Rey woman who suffered a brain aneurysm in May during her fifth month of pregnancy.
Ana Carranza, 32, survived risky surgery to save her life, but she and her husband did not have health insurance. So far, the couple have incurred $500,000 in medical bills and used their life savings of $40,000 to help pay the expenses.
The benefit concert was at the nightclub 14 Below, and owner Alan King said donations will continue to be accepted at the club for the Carranzas. For information call (310) 451-5040.
