OUTLOOK

A two-victory season won’t spark excitement at most schools, but the total is more than enough to stir hope at Ocean View. Entering last season, the Seahawks had lost 29 consecutive games. The streak ballooned to 36 games before ending Oct. 28 in a 20-12 Golden West League victory over Santa Ana. Ocean View won two of its final three games, upsetting Westminster, the league’s second-place finisher, 7-6, in a season finale. Donnelly hopes the Seahawks are finally headed in a positive direction. He has 13 returning starters to work with--seven on offense. Norman, selected first-team all-league as a defensive back, has been switched to running back. Ketcham, selected second-team all-league, leads the defense. “I really think,” Donnelly said, “things are looking up.”
