El Toro scored on five of its first six possessions and went on to defeat Dana Hills, 48-14, Friday night at Trabuco Hills High.

The Chargers (1-1) wasted no time in dashing any hopes Dana Hills players had of ending a losing streak that has reached 19 games.

“Our attitude coming in was, ‘Let’s get them down early and keep them down,’ ” El Toro Coach Mike Milner said. “We started out able to do everything we wanted to.”

Dana Hills (0-2) looked unprepared from the start, taking a delay of game on second down and punting after three plays.

El Toro went 63 yards on eight plays and led, 7-0, after Richard Oates scored on a one-yard touchdown run. Krupp completed all three of his passes for 44 yards in the drive.

“[Krupp] played really well for a guy only playing his second varsity football game,” Milner said.

The Chargers led, 28-0, before Dana Hills scored late in the second quarter--Julio Peraza took Aaron Kaufman’s shovel pass 57 yards for a touchdown.

But El Toro responded by scoring on two plays. Krupp connected with tight end Brian Koupal for a 49-yard pass play and slot back Murle Sango carried a pitch to the weak side 16 yards for a touchdown. The Chargers led, 35-7, at halftime.

Krupp threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns, completing 12 of 16 attempts.

Sango added 134 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns. Sophomore running back Darren Ohweiler made his varsity debut in the second half, rushing seven times for 72 yards and a touchdown.

El Toro’s defensive line applied constant pressure to Dolphin quarterback Aaron Kaufman, who was sacked twice and forced to scramble eight times. Despite the pressure, Kaufman threw for 121 yards for two touchdowns, completing 10 of 20 attempts.

The victory marked the third time El Toro has defeated Dana Hills during the Dolphins’ losing streak, more than any team.
