Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback Neil O’Donnell, impatient to play after sitting out four games, will resume practicing Wednesday and might play Sunday in Jacksonville. O’Donnell, who sat out only three games in 1993 and 1994, hasn’t played since breaking the little finger on his right hand in the Steelers’ opener against Detroit.

Mike Cofer, who made only four of nine field-goal attempts this season, was released by the Indianapolis Colts.
