Wheeler, from Los Alamitos High, has learned that patience is rewarded at Cypress. She came to the team last season, but the Chargers had one of the most talented units in the state so she spent much of the time on the bench. But this season, she has moved into the starting lineup and is tied for the team lead in goals with five. She also has an assist. Wheeler scored three goals in an 8-0 victory over San Diego City Friday.
