Obituaries : Lena Mary Davis; Worked on Disneyland Clothes

Lena Mary Davis, a retired seamstress, died Sunday in an Oxnard convalescent hospital after a long illness. She was 74.

Davis, who was born Feb. 2, 1921, in Leominster, Mass., was a 13-year Ventura County resident, having come from Burbank.

She had been a seamstress for 15 years, and helped manufacture the clothes of the animated dolls of Disneyland’s “It’s a Small World” exhibit and ride. Davis is also a past owner of the former Cactus Club pub of Ojai.

She is survived by her daughters, Maryilynn Houck of Burbank and Paula Davis of Ventura; her brother, Angelo Ferrara of Illinois; her sisters, Mary Hill of Washington and Eleanor Congden of Rhode Island; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be private. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
