St. Francis 35, Bishop Montgomery 0--Darin Maxwell's two touchdowns and strong defensive play helped St. Francis (6-0, 1-0) register its third consecutive shutout at Bishop Montgomery. The Golden Knights, led by Jim Hemming's three sacks, gave up only 84 total yards.

The shutout was the fourth of the season for St. Francis, which has allowed only 21 points.

The Golden Knights opened the scoring with a four-yard touchdown pass from John Carnevali (nine of 19, 126 yards) to Vince Dioguardi late in the first quarter.

Maxwell's first score came on a two-yard fumble return with 3:25 to play in the first half. His second score, which was set up by a punt blocked deep in Bishop Montgomery territory by Nick Milligan, came less than three minutes later on a two-yard run to make the halftime score 21-0.

After stopping Bishop Montgomery (1-5, 0-1) on its first drive of the second half, Mike Siordia returned a punt 62 yards for a touchdown.
