COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Simpson Scores Six Goals to Lead Fullerton in Soccer

Jamie Simpson scored three goals in each half as Fullerton beat Golden West, 8-1, in an Orange Empire Conference women’s soccer game Tuesday at Golden West.

Simpson has a conference-high 18 goals for Fullerton (7-2-3, 1-0 in conference). Stacey Engelhard scored for Golden West (4-3, 0-1).

In other conference games:

Cypress 2, Rancho Santiago 0--Audrey Sinclair and Mandy Lashmett each scored for Cypress (9-0-2, 1-0). Sandra Toscano had nine saves for Rancho Santiago (7-4, 0-1). Cypress is unbeaten in its last 41 conference games.

Orange Coast 2, Irvine Valley 0--Renee Armstrong and Keri Lawson each scored in the second half to lead Orange Coast (5-1-1, 1-0). Irvine Valley is 5-5, 0-1.

In Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer:

Orange Coast 5, Golden West 2--Supreeda Julimasart scored two goals for Orange Coast (3-5-3, 2-1-1), which opened a 5-0 lead 12 minutes into the second half. Golden West is 3-7-3, 0-4-1.

Fullerton 3, Cypress 1--D.J. Buckley, Tony Vasquez and Alex Perez scored for visiting Fullerton (8-3-2, 1-2-1). Duje Babarovic scored for Cypress (3-5-2, 1-2-1).

Riverside 2, Irvine Valley 1--Marco Soskic scored for Irvine Valley.

In Orange Empire Conference water polo:

Saddleback 12, Cypress 4--Blake Corbin and James Lowe scored three goals each for visiting Saddleback (9-8-3, 6-2), which led, 8-1, at the half.
