Loyola 21, Alemany 0--The Cubs (6-1, 2-0) defeated the Indians (1-6, 0-2) at Glendale High to claim sole possession of first place.
NONLEAGUE
Mammoth 22, Valencia 20--Brian Ognisty rushed for 76 yards and three touchdowns to lead Mammoth (4-2) at Canyon High.
Kenny Taylor fumbled away Valencia’s last hope at the Husky 37-yard line with 47 seconds left.
Taylor completed nine of 11 passes and rushed for 99 yards, including a 53-yard touchdown dash 25 seconds before halftime, cutting the Huskies’ lead to 16-13.
Donavan Calhoun, who rushed for 118 yards and scored two touchdowns for the Vikings (1-6), scored on a 63-yard run on the second play from scrimmage.
