Glendale 20, Ventura 9--Aryan Hart came off the bench to replace injured Greg Marquez and led a second-half surge for the Vaqueros (2-4, 2-2, 1-0) in a North Division game at Glendale High.

Hart, who shares the quarterback job with Marquez, completed 20 of 33 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown after entering in the first quarter when Marquez was sidelined because of a wrist injury.

Hart’s nine-yard scoring pass to Rocky Barbaro early in the fourth quarter capped a 75-yard drive and put the Vaqueros ahead, 13-6.

Glendale iced the game five minutes later on a 26-yard scoring run by Ramone Archie.

The Pirates (1-5, 1-5, 0-1) used three quarterbacks but managed only 170 yards in total offense.
