Souza Helps No. 4 El Toro Get Past No. 2 Villa Park

El Toro, ranked fourth in Orange County, upset No. 2 Villa Park, 9-6, in a nonleague water polo game Monday at El Toro.
El Toro led, 5-2, at the half and outscored Villa Park, 3-1, in the third to put the game away. Shaun Souza had four goals for El Toro (17-5), which is ranked fifth in the Southern Section Division I poll. Peter Cornue had four goals for Villa Park (20-3), which is ranked second in the same poll.
In another nonleague water polo game:
Saddleback 21, Los Amigos 2--Johnny Roy’s seven goals gave him 93 this season for Saddleback. Efrain Gonzalez scored six for Saddleback (12-7), which scored seven first-quarter goals.
In a Golden West League girls’ volleyball match:
Rosary 3, Tustin 2--Jen Shirley and Sarah Cody each had 12 kills as Rosary rallied for a 15-6, 6-15, 13-15, 15-6, 15-12 victory. Rosary is 9-3, 5-1 and Tustin is 5-8, 3-3.
In Golden West League girls’ tennis:
Rosary 16, Westminster 2--Eleanor Luzano won, 6-4, 6-0, 6-0, for Rosary, which swept all nine doubles sets. Rosary, which is ranked 10th in Orange County and fifth in Southern Section Division III, is 16-1, 7-0.
In nonleague girls’ tennis:
Laguna Beach 12, El Toro 6--Linsay Weiss won, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, for host Laguna Beach (14-3). The Artists are ranked third in Orange County and first in the Southern Section Division II poll.
