LAKE FOREST — Investigators released a composite sketch Tuesday of a man who raped a 9-year-old girl last weekend near Serrano Creek Community Park.
The owner of a nearby print shop was assisting the Orange County Sheriff’s Department by printing thousands of flyers with the sketch.
“We’ll print as many as necessary,” said Patrick Carrigan-Smith, the owner of Mister Printer in Lake Forest. “We will continue printing until the person’s been apprehended.”
While his copiers were churning out flyers, Carrigan-Smith pleaded with the public to help distribute them.
“It’s everyone’s responsibility,” he said.
The victim was assaulted near the park at 7 p.m. Saturday as she walked home from a convenience store. The attack has horrified residents of the neighborhood where the 4.4-acre wooded park is popular for its equestrian and hiking trails.
“It has affected everybody,” Carrigan-Smith said.
Investigators described the assailant as white, in his 20s, 5-feet-11, about 180 pounds, and with shoulder-length dark hair. Sheriff’s officials urged anyone with information to contact investigators at (714) 647-7464, or (714) 834-6490 after hours.
