Hancock 56, Pierce 19--Tahki Bannister rushed 18 times for 142 yards to lead Hancock (7-2, 6-2, 3-1) to a WSC North Division victory at Pierce (1-8, 1-7, 1-4).

Reggie Etheridge added 81 yards and two touchdowns in 10 carries.

The Bulldogs led, 6-0, in the first quarter when Etheridge scored on a 17-yard run.

Hancock extended its lead to 14-0 when Derek Burrell caught a six-yard touchdown pass from Mick Sitarski and Bannister caught a pass for a two-point conversion.

Pierce got on the board in the second quarter when Jason Howard, who had nine catches for 107 yards, caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from David Muir. The touchdown capped a seven-play, 69-yard drive. Muir completed four of five passes for 56 yards on the drive.

Hancock scored 21 unanswered points in seven minutes to go up 35-6. After Etheridge’s one-yard touchdown run, Brad Knowles intercepted Muir’s pass and raced 60 yards for a score.

The Bulldogs closed the first half scoring with 27 seconds left when Adam Pineo hit Dave Heil on a 36-yard touchdown pass play.

Sophomore Brad Norris completed 13 of 19 for 140 yards and two touchdowns for the Brahmas.

Duane Goree had 86 yards rushing in 14 carries for Hancock.

Muir completed 13 of 20 passes for 138 yards and a one touchdown while throwing three interceptions.
