The awards keep coming for Hart High’s Ted Iacenda and Antelope Valley’s Jermaine Lewis, the Southern Section Division II co-players of the year.

Iacenda and Lewis, showcased in the Division II championship game, were selected to the All-Southern Section team, which recognizes the top 25 football players in the section’s 11 divisions.

Six others from the area were also recognized, including two more from Antelope Valley, the only school with three players selected.

For Iacenda, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound senior running back who set a section record by scoring 604 points in his career, it is his second All-Southern Section distinction. The only other repeat selection was Los Alamitos senior quarterback Kevin Feterik.

Lewis, a 5-7, 172-pound senior running back, rushed for a region-high 2,511 yards and 32 touchdowns.

Other Antelope Valley players include senior linebacker Sean Cartaya (6-2, 210) and junior defensive back Tony Walker (6-1, 170). Walker was one of only two juniors named to the team.

Newbury Park landed two players: senior wide receiver DaJuan Hawkins (6-5, 200) and senior linebacker Brant Diediker (6-2, 220).

Others include St. Bonaventure senior lineman Sam Benner (6-5, 250) and Westlake senior defensive back Jamal Harris (6-0, 190).
