Four Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits were named to the All-Southern Section Division I football team: running back Akka-ar Moses, quarterback Morris Smith, safety Joe Harris and wide receiver Kenyon Rambo. Two players from Los Alamitos, Kevin Feterik and Tony Hartley, were selected, as were linebacker Kevin Malone of St. John Bosco and St. Paul tight end Justin Morris. In Division II, three Peninsula players were named: quarterback Damon Gourdine, offensive lineman Jeff Erxleben and defensive lineman Brady Facer. . . . Bellflower held San Gorgonio to six points in the second half of a 57-27 girls’ basketball victory. . . . Center Kevin Gibbs had 21 points and 11 rebounds in a 67-58 victory by Bellflower over Estancia in boys’ basketball. . . . Forward Jamie Sameshinan scored three goals in San Pedro’s 4-1 girls’ soccer victory over Quartz Hill.
