Moreno Valley’s Jamie Berman tied the CIF girls’ soccer record (state and Southern Section) when she scored 11 goals in a 17-1 victory over Rubidoux last Thursday. Eleven goals in one game has been done three times. Berman, a junior, had set a school record with eight goals in a game--also against Rubidoux--last season. . . . Tanisha Tatum, a freshman left wing for the Palm Springs girls’ soccer team, scored four goals in the Indians’ 10-0 victory over Southwest. . . . In boys’ soccer, A.B. Miller goalie Travis Miller had 10 saves in a 1-0 loss to Riverside North. . . . Charles Jones, who wrestles in the 189-pound division, is 30-2 including 27 pins and four first-place finishes in tournaments, the most recent last Saturday at the Apple Valley tournament. . . . In girls’ basketball, A.B. Miller’s Sceffrena Ward had a triple-double against Colton last week: 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals. . . . Christie Hilgesen scored only two points in Linfield’s game against Desert Christian last Friday, but they came on a 15-foot basket with one second to play and gave Linfield a 41-40 victory. . . . In boys’ basketball, Whitewater St. John’s David Hamilton had 25 points, 21 rebounds, six blocks and five assists in a 78-57 victory over Los Pinos. . . . Twin Pines’ Antwan Spence scored 36 points in a 55-49 loss to Calipatria last Thursday.
