Sylmar Needs All 34 Points by Roberson to Beat Grant

Kylie Roberson scored 34 points and had nine steals as Sylmar High defeated Grant, 54-53, on Friday in a Valley Pac-8 Conference girls’ basketball game at Sylmar.

The Spartans (3-6, 2-2 in conference play) had a 54-50 lead when Bahaneh Maani, who scored 22 points for Grant (8-5, 2-2), made a three-point basket at the buzzer.

Nakeisha Perkins added 18 points for Grant.

Taft 63, Birmingham 27--Vanessa Dunn scored 14 points and added 12 rebounds for the Toreadors (13-0, 4-0) in a Northwest Valley Conference game at Taft.

Nyoki McKeith added 12 points and six assists for Taft.

Crescenta Valley 60, Arcadia 33--Amirah Leonard had 21 points, 11 rebounds and six steals for the Falcons (20-1, 5-0) in a Pacific League game at Arcadia.

Tara Gregory added eight and Michelle Greco had six.

Van Nuys 60, Reseda 45--Lashanda Holland had all 20 of the Regents’ points in the first half and all but two through three quarters but it wasn’t enough in a Valley Pac-8 game at Van Nuys.

Holland finished with 32 points.

Gohar Tumanian had 24 points and 18 rebounds for the Wolves (7-6, 3-1).

North Hollywood 63, Poly 39--Stephanie Wasserman had 16 points, including four three-pointers, for the Huskies (12-3, 4-0) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Poly.

Samantha Fargeon added 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Tashean Thomas had 13 points and six steals for Poly (7-10, 1-3).

Christina Perez scored 13 points for the Parrots.

Nordhoff 57, Calabasas 42--Keyana Stanford scored 21 points, and Nell Becker added nine points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for the Rangers (13-7, 4-1), who held the Coyotes (9-6, 3-2) scoreless in the last four minutes of a Frontier League game at Nordhoff.

Moorpark 80, Malibu 8--Tracey Milburn scored 15 points and her sister, Tina, added 14 for the Musketeers (16-0, 5-0) in a Frontier League game at Malibu.
