Possible Serial Rapist Described
Los Angeles police released a description of a possible serial rapist Wednesday who may be operating in the Sherman Oaks area.
The slender, muscular, white male, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, is believed to be responsible for at least one rape last month and possibly for an attempted rape this week, police said.
Police said the man broke into an apartment in the vicinity of Ventura Boulevard and Willis Avenue on Jan. 16 and raped the woman who lived there.
On Wednesday, a man fitting the same description broke into another woman’s apartment and tried to rape her, police said. Authorities said the same man may be responsible for numerous prowler calls in the area in recent weeks.
Police refused to reveal anything else about the incidents.
