Palm Springs’ Tanisha Tatum, a freshman left wing on the girls’ soccer team, set a school record with five goals in a game against La Quinta. She scored four in the first 18 minutes and then was removed until halftime by Coach Luis Lopez. Tatum started the second half and scored in the first six minutes. . . . Sean Lockhart, the leading scorer for the Palm Springs soccer team, had three goals Friday to increase his season total to 27. . . . Viviana Perezchica of Cathedral City scored three goals in a 7-1 victory over Indio. . . . In girls’ basketball, Banning’s Chanda Johnson scored 18 points and had 20 rebounds in a 56-43 victory over Hemet West Valley. . . . Brandi Perry, a senior center for Palm Desert, scored 17 points and had 21 rebounds in a 48-21 victory over La Quinta. . . . Whitewater’s Antwuan Saucer scored 35 points--15 of them on three-point baskets--and had eight rebounds to lead Whitewater to a 69-65 basketball victory over Masada. . . . Palm Springs’ Maurice Scott scored 25 points and had 18 rebounds in a 72-60 victory over Cathedral City.
