The Beverly Hills girls’ basketball team made a 54-point improvement last Friday, losing, 79-16, to Morningside in an Ocean League game at Beverly Hills. The Normans had lost to Morningside, 120-3, on Jan. 5. Baskets in the first five minutes by Sepi Haghighi and Neda Nathan made sure Beverly Hills (1-13, 1-7) would exceed its Jan. 5 total, and three starters who were reinstated after suspensions for missing a winter-vacation practice also helped. . . . Zoe Heimann, Marymount’s goalkeeper, moved up to forward and scored three goals in a 10-0 victory over St. Monica. . . . Three Westchester football players said that they would attend college on scholarships: Chris Wadell, a linebacker, to Washington; Jason Small, a defensive back, to Virginia, and Claiborne McKeel, a defensive end, to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. . . . Former Crenshaw and Fairfax coach Ron Price was named football coach at Palisades High, replacing Russ Howard, who will remain as the school’s baseball coach.
