CSUN Lowers Boom on Master’s

Share

It’s a good thing the Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team schedules games against schools that compete in lower divisions, like the National Assn. of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Thanks to such weaker programs, the Matadors have a two-game winning streak. They beat Cal State Los Angeles, a Division II school, by 20 points on Jan. 31 and The Master’s College, an NAIA institution, 87-51, on Wednesday night at Matador Gym.

Northridge (5-16) dominated the entire game. The Matadors held a 19-11 lead with 6 minutes 28 seconds left in the first half and scored 13 consecutive points to go up, 35-13.

Northridge held a 43-20 halftime lead and Master’s (10-16) didn’t come within 20 the rest of the way.

Guard Pam Karbowski and center Maureen Batiste each had 13 points for the Matadors.

Kim DeVries had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Master’s.
