Keys to the game--For Orange, it will be composure and adjusting to the loss of sweeper Danny Califf, who was red-carded in a semifinal victory over Oxnard Rio Mesa. “We had a long talk [Wednesday] about not committing unnecessary fouls in the back,” Orange Coach Sal Anaya said. “We need to be smart.” Anaya has moved some players around to disguise Califf’s absence. Gonzalez, normally a midfielder, moves to sweeper and Velasquez moves from midfielder to forward. “I rely a lot on Steven,” Anaya said. “I know he’ll make the right decisions.”

Anaya welcomes back Diaz, who missed the Rio Mesa game because of a red card. “Victor will be hungry for the ball.” Dominguez Coach Jose Rosas said his team, which is unseeded, is also hungry. “They’re not going to give up,” Rosas said. “Too many times we’ve come from behind. I told the kids to keep working together and we’ll be at the finals.” The Orange-Dominguez game was originally scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, but it was moved to accommodate the Dominguez boys’ basketball game at the Pond. “We’ve been backing each other,” Rosas said. “We come to their games, they come to our games.”
