Fountain Valley 2, Canyon 1--In the fifth-place game, Jackie Killian had two hits and scored for the Barons (9-5), whose four first-inning hits led to both runs. Tenth-ranked Canyon is 12-6.

Garden Grove 3, Los Alamitos 2 (8 innings)--The seventh-place game was decided using the international tie-breaker, as Amy Silva scored from third base on Erica Hammontree’s single. Nuvia Marti and Kathy Moore held Los Alamitos (10-6) to three hits. Fifth-ranked Garden Grove is 13-7.

Rosary 3, Katella 1 (6 innings, time limit)--Julie Luna drove home the tying run and scored the go-ahead run when she stole home for Rosary (12-7) in the ninth-place game. The Royals scored all three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Western 3, Magnolia 1--Andrea LaPena (11-5) posted her county-best 11th victory as Western took advantage of five errors. LaPena surrendered four hits, one more than Magnolia’s Tiffany Mercado.

El Dorado 1, Ocean View 0 (8 innings)--Annie Maddox beat the throw to home plate on Jamie Nebeker’s grounder to shortstop, giving El Dorado (9-5) the victory. Carrie Jeffries (5-3) pitched a five-hitter for El Dorado.

La Habra 4, Hacienda Heights Los Altos 3--Shelley Salas had two hits and Michelle Archibeque had two hits and scored two runs for La Habra (9-5) in the consolation championship.
