Bodies of Woman, Infant Found in Car
The bodies of a woman and an infant were found inside a car in a parking structure at Los Angeles International Airport Monday night after firefighters doused a fire that burned the vehicle, authorities said.
The identities of the victims were undetermined and authorities were uncertain whether the two died as a result of the fire, said Bob Collis, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The department’s arson unit was investigating the cause of the fire, which also damaged a second vehicle. Firefighters were called to the parking structure across from Terminal One--whose airlines include U.S. Air and Southwest--just before 8 p.m. Monday. They doused the fire in about 10 minutes, Collis said. Firefighters discovered the bodies after the flames were out.
