In other league games:

Cypress 10, Kennedy 9 (10 innings)--After Kennedy took a 9-7 lead into the bottom of the 10th, J.R. Johnson hit a three-run homer to win it for host Cypress (15-3, 7-1). Kennedy (10-9, 2-6) trailed after six innings, 5-1, but scored four in the top of the seventh to send it into extra innings.

Jeremy Neuner hit a two-run homer in the top of the eighth to give Kennedy the lead, 7-5, but Cypress answered when Josh Ennulat hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the inning to tie it, 7-7.

El Dorado 11, Century 7--Brandon Downing had three hits and five RBIs for visiting El Dorado (10-9, 5-3), which trailed, 4-1, after two innings.

In the Garden Grove League:

Bolsa Grande 7, Los Amigos 5--Joey Francisco had three hits and scored three runs and Gus De Leon drove in two runs and earned his fourth save for Bolsa Grande (12-4-1, 4-2).

In the Orange League:

Magnolia 11, Brea Olinda 1--Magnolia had six consecutive base hits in its five-run second inning. Greg Young (6-1) threw a three-hitter and had three hits and drove in three runs for the Sentinels (12-3, 7-1), which took over sole possession of first place.

In the Sea View League:

El Toro 8, Corona del Mar 7--Matt Steinau scored three runs to lift fifth-ranked El Toro (14-4-1, 6-1) at Corona del Mar. Reuben Gulledge had a three-run homer in the seventh for the Sea Kings.

Irvine 3, Newport Harbor 2--Irvine’s Ruben Manriquez and Brian Krill held Newport Harbor to four hits and one earned run. Joe Urban hit a home run for Newport Harbor (7-10, 1-7). Irvine is 10-7-1, 5-2-1.

In the South Coast League:

Capistrano Valley 5, San Clemente 1--Todd Miller’s five stolen bases broke the Capistrano Valley record, and gave him 22 on the season--matching the standard set by Steve Skupian in 1984.

Mater Dei 5, Trabuco Hills 1--Mike Hessman, Rod Fraser and Ryan Fitzpatrick homered for top-ranked Mater Dei (15-2, 8-0), giving the Monarchs 26 on the season.

In the Sunset League:

Edison 3, Fountain Valley 2--Vince Catani robbed Chris Fusillo of a two-run homer in the sixth inning and scored in the top of the seventh as Edison (8-10, 4-4) upset second-ranked Fountain Valley (14-5, 6-2) for the second time.

Fusillo had a two-run homer in the first inning, but the Barons couldn’t push across any more runs despite two hit batsmen in the sixth and two hits in the seventh. Catani doubled off a runner at second base after his game-saving catch to end the sixth inning.

Catani singled and stole second base in the seventh, took third on Jake Roquemore’s hit and scored on Christian Popoff’s single.

Marina 3, Huntington Beach 2--Fabian Garcia had an RBI single to highlight a three-run second inning for host Marina (9-8, 2-6).
