Cevallos Drives In Go-Ahead Run for Chapman
Carlos Cevallos’ pinch-hit double in the seventh inning drove in Matt McCready with the go-ahead run to help host Chapman defeat Azusa Pacific, 7-3, in a nonconference baseball game Friday.
Cale Shepherd had three hits, including a two-run homer, for Chapman (20-15).
In Big West Conference softball:
Nevada Las Vegas 3-3, Cal State Fullerton 2-1--Kim Rondina hit home runs in both games of the doubleheader to help the visiting Rebels (35-18, 19-10) sweep. Traci Fischer had three hits and Brandi Isgar hit her fifth home run in the first game for the Titans (37-22, 14-12).
In the Golden State Athletic Conference:
Southern California College 2-1, California Baptist 1-6--Jen Houston pitched a two-hitter in the first game for visiting SCC, which clinched second place with a 2-1 victory. SCC ended the regular season at 15-21-2, 13-7.
