Dallas Wins, 2-1, on Early Goals

Jason Kreis and Washington Rodriguez scored six minutes apart midway through the first half Sunday, giving the Dallas Burn a 2-1 victory over the Mutiny at Tampa Bay.

Kreis gave Dallas the lead in the 24th minute on a drive into the left corner of the net and Rodriguez added his on a free kick in the 30th.

U.S. national team forward Roy Lassiter had two goals disallowed in the first half for the Mutiny, one for an offside call and the other because it crossed the goal line after the half had ended.

Lassiter finally scored for Tampa in the 81st, knocking in a left-footer off a Ivan McKinley’s corner.

Dallas improved to 2-1-1 and has seven points, two behind the Galaxy in the Western Conference.

Tampa Bay, playing before a home crowd of 14,084, fell to 2-1-0.
