Huskies’ Sanford Will Go NBA Route
SEATTLE — Sophomore forward Mark Sanford, Washington’s leading scorer and rebounder, said Thursday that he was making himself available for the NBA draft.
Sanford is the first Husky basketball player to announce his intention to leave school early for the draft.
The 6-foot-8 Sanford was selected first-team All-Pac-10 this season after averaging 16.5 points, fifth in the conference, and 6.0 rebounds.
Sanford sent a letter to the NBA office Monday, declaring his intention to forgo his last two years at Washington. He said he will return to school if he is not selected.
