Brea Olinda Boys Finish Third at Division III Swimming Finals

The Brea Olinda boys’ team, the county’s only representative in the Southern Section Division III swimming finals, finished in third place Saturday at Belmont Plaza.

Freshman Oliver White had the best finish for Brea Olinda, taking third in the 100-yard backstroke (54.27 seconds). Corey Bush, a sophomore, finished sixth in the 50 freestyle (22.49) and freshman Nick Collier placed seventh in the 200 (1:47.27) and 500 (4:51.61) freestyles for the Wildcats.

Ridgecrest Burroughs won the boys’ competition with 176 points and Mira Loma Jurupa Valley finished second (159). The Wildcats compiled 131 points.

In the girls’ finals, Jurupa Valley won the title with 190 points, followed by Whittier La Serna (180) and North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake (174).
