Kennedy Will Defend Title as City’s Top-Seeded Team

Kennedy High, defending City Section champion, has earned top seeding for the baseball playoffs and will play host to Westchester in a first-round game Tuesday.

The rest of the playoff picture, however, was clouded after a coaches’ meeting Wednesday night.

Officials will determine today whether ninth-seeded Banning will be disqualified for using an ineligible player. If Banning is ousted, Taft will be added to the playoff roster.

If Taft is included, the matchups will include: Sylmar at Reseda, San Pedro at Palisades, North Hollywood at El Camino Real, Monroe at Carson, Granada Hills at Chatsworth, University at Cleveland and Taft at Poly.
