Pitcher Robert Crabtree and outfielder Kurt Airoso, who helped Cal State Northridge advance to the West Regional, are beginning their professional careers at extended spring training until short-season Class-A seasons begin Monday.
Crabtree, a 21st-round draft choice of the San Francisco Giants, is in Scottsdale, Ariz., and Airoso, a 29th-round pick of the Detroit Tigers, is in Lakeland, Fla. Both signed over the weekend.
Joining Crabtree in Scottsdale is Mike Glendenning, a 10th-round choice of the Giants who signed instead of attending Northridge.
Catcher Casey Snow of Crespi High and Long Beach State and a 15th-round pick, signed with the Dodgers.
Pepperdine catcher Dennis Twombley, a late-round pick of the New York Yankees, also has signed.
