Saticoy Girl Killed in Accident Identified

Police released the name Sunday of a 7-year-old Saticoy girl who died when the car her mother was driving swerved off Vineyard Avenue east of Ventura and rolled into a roadside ditch.

Felicia Mascote of Saticoy was killed after she was ejected from the car Saturday afternoon, police said.

None of the seven occupants of the vehicle was wearing seat belts, authorities said. Two other passengers, who were also ejected from the vehicle, suffered moderate to serious injuries.

Estella Martinez, 15, of Ventura suffered major injuries when the vehicle landed on top of her as it rolled over. She was listed Sunday in stable condition at Ventura County Medical Center. Isiac Mascote, 6, of Saticoy suffered moderate injuries.

About 5 p.m., the car driven by Amy Alcantara, 23, of Saticoy was southbound on Vineyard Avenue just north of Central Avenue when it went off the road, police said.

Alcantara and the other three passengers, Yesenia Moru, 3, of Saticoy, Alex Rojas, 19, of Oxnard and Ginger Martinez, 12, of Ventura, all suffered minor injuries.
