Apartment Fire Causes $9,000 Damage
An exposed wire started a fire Friday that caused about $9,000 damage to an apartment complex in Moorpark, authorities said.
The fire was reported to the Ventura County Fire Department about 11:20 a.m. and was contained about 25 minutes later, authorities said.
County fire officials say the fire broke out in the upstairs unit at 202 E. New Los Angeles Ave. after a wire on the floor beneath a speaker overheated. It then spread to the downstairs unit.
