Five key players will be held out of Cal State Northridge’s first football scrimmage of fall practice Saturday because of injuries, Coach Dave Baldwin said.
Wide receiver Tim Hilton (pulled hamstring), offensive linemen David San Vicente (broken tooth), Sean Anderson (sprained ankle) and Paul Sauter (sprained ankle) and linebacker Robby Proffer (stretched knee ligaments) will not play.
All are expected to be ready for the Matadors’ first game on Sept. 7 at Utah State.
