As Saturday’s midnight deadline for postseason rosters approached, teams began making their moves.

The Baltimore Orioles acquired Todd Zeile and Pete Incaviglia from the Philadelphia Phillies, adding two powerful right-handed bats to their lineup. The last-place Phillies will get two players to be named.

Zeile, who turns 31 next month, is hitting .268 with 20 home runs and 80 runs batted in this season. Incaviglia, 32, is batting .234 with 16 home runs and 42 RBIs.

The Minnesota Twins traded third baseman Dave Hollins to the Seattle Mariners, clearing the way for minor league phenom Todd Walker’s much-anticipated jump to the majors.

The Twins promoted Walker, a third baseman, from triple-A Salt Lake after sending Hollins to the Mariners for a player to be named. Hollins signed a one-year contract last off-season, and although his 13 homers tied for the team lead, it was acknowledged that he would only stay until Walker (.335, 27 homers, 107 RBIs) was ready to play every day.
