The Chapman women’s volleyball team had a tough first week, but Coach Mary Cahill believes the Panthers could be her best Division III team yet.

“Athletically this team is more agile than what we’ve had before,” Cahill said. “We just need to all come together on the court. It will happen, but it’s going to take some practice time and match time to get it all to click.”

The Panthers (3-3) began their fourth Division III season Sept. 12 by defeating Occidental in five games, then went 1-3 at a tournament at Trinity (Texas) on Sept. 13-14. Chapman beat UC Santa Cruz and lost to Savannah College of Art & Design, top-ranked Washington (Mo.) and No. 11 Trinity.
