Channel Islands 7, Hueneme 6--Ryan Burnsell caught a seven-yard touchdown pass and kicked the decisive extra point to lead Channel Islands to a nonleague victory at Channel Islands.
With 28 seconds to play in the first half, quarterback Nick Ciari found Burnsell to cap a seven-play, 33-yard drive set up by an interception by Ray Carmel.
Hueneme scored in the third quarter on a one-yard touchdown run by Saipale Fesagaiga. The extra-point attempt failed.
Franklin 20, Crescenta Valley 19--Kenny Pritchett scored a one yard touchdown with 13 seconds remaining to pull the Falcons (0-2) within a point, but Ryan McKnight’s 2-point conversion pass attempt to Chris Oliver fell incomplete in the intersectional game at Glendale High School.
Pritchett led Crescenta Valley with 176 yards on 36 carries. The Falcons took a 7-6 lead in the second quarter on a 28 yard touchdown pass from McKnight to Nat Barber.
