Friendly Rivalry for Baldwin, Axman

Cal State Northridge football Coach Dave Baldwin and Northern Arizona Coach Steve Axman have been friends since the two were assistants at Stanford.

Even Ryan Baldwin, the coach’s 12-year-old son, likes Axman. He was unhappy when his dad told him he wouldn’t be tagging along for Saturday night’s game between the teams at Flagstaff, Ariz.

“Aw, I wanted to stand on Axman’s sideline,” Ryan told his dad.
