Concordia Rallies in Volleyball
Concordia kept its winning streak alive, beating visiting Chapman in four games in a nonconference women’s volleyball match Wednesday.
After a close first game in which Chapman edged Concordia, 15-12, the Eagles came back to win the next three, 15-7, 15-5, 15-7.
Geodi Sunabe had 15 kills to lead the Eagles, who improved to 8-10. Kim Martin had 38 assists for Concordia. Chapman is 4-7.
In another nonconference women’s volleyball match:
Long Beach State 3, Boise State 0--Long Beach State remained unbeaten by beating Boise State at home.
Nique Crump had 12 kills to lead Long Beach State, which won, 15-2, 15-7, 15-8. Former Newport Harbor star Misty May had 34 assists and six kills for Long Beach State (15-0, 3-0). Boise State is 6-10, 2-1.
In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s soccer:
Westmont 2, Southern California College 0--Katie Gardiner and Sara Chisholm each scored a goal for Westmont (5-4-1, 3-0). Westmont had 16 shots on goal, but Southern California College (5-5-1, 0-2-1) could manage only four shots on goal.
