Crystalaire Country Club in Llano is among 11 courses that will host the 72-hole first stage of PGA Tour qualifying school today through Thursday.

Seventy-eight professionals will play four rounds, with the top 22 advancing.

The third and final stage will be held at Sandpiper Golf Course in Goleta and La Purisima Golf Course in Lompoc.

The top 40 receive an automatic one-year exemption to PGA Tour events.

Local players entered are: Brad Gallagher of Valencia, Paul Holtby of Moorpark, James Nello of Westlake Village, Robert Secrest of Oxnard, Justin Wright of Ventura, Chris Zambri of Camarillo and Jeff Sanday, a former Cal State Northridge player.

The Cal Lutheran women’s volleyball team, ranked sixth in the NCAA Division III, plays host to fourth-ranked UC San Diego in a nonconference match tonight at 6. Cal Lutheran has a record of 13-3, 9-0 in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Assn. play.
