Charger Center Out for Season

Center Courtney Hall, a fixture in San Diego’s offensive line since he was a rookie in 1989, decided to have surgery on his right knee and right shoulder and will sit out the rest of the season.

Hall had missed only one start in 124 games, including playoffs, until sitting out three consecutive games recently.

Also Thursday, the NFL fined linebacker Lew Bush $7,500 for a hit on Detroit quarterback Scott Mitchell on Monday night. Bush said he’ll appeal. And tight end Alfred Pupunu, out for the season after breaking his left ankle Monday night, underwent surgery.
