Deadly Duo Leads St. Francis, 35-21

St. Francis High was looking for horses to ride and it found them in Robert Milton and Darius Brown, who rushed for a combined 364 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Golden Knights to a 35-21 victory over Dos Pueblos in a first-round game of the Southern Section playoffs at San Marcos High.

St. Francis (8-3) will play Camarillo in the second round. Dos Pueblos finishes 8-3.

Milton carried 33 times for 145 yards and two touchdowns and Brown carried 16 times for 219 yards and three touchdowns.

Brown scored the first two times he touched the ball on runs of 27 and 39 yards in the first quarter. He also opened the second-half scoring with an 82-yard run.

St. Francis led, 21-13, at halftime. Quarterback Anthony Ramos completed 12 of 20 passes for 123 passes and three interceptions for the Chargers.

J.J. Brunner returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown for the Chargers. Brunner gained 43 yards in eight carries.
