Pacific Christian is seeded eighth of eight teams in the National Christian College Athletic Assn. Division I tournament, but Coach Rich Davis says his team has a good chance to win.

The Royals (12-7-1) will start the tournament Wednesday by playing top-seeded Malone (Ohio) in Longview, Texas. Davis says his team, which is led by sophomore midfielder Donald Laing (seven goals, 16 assists), freshman fullback Manuel Tapia (10 goals, two assists), freshman midfielder Thoreau Prendergast (three goals, four assists) and sophomore forward Mark Campbell (14 goals), has jelled at the right time.

PCC qualified for the tournament by beating Christian Heritage, 3-2, in a regional championship game this month.
