Corona Centennial 24, Chino 15--Damion Barton gained 230 yards in 28 carries to lead Centennial (12-1) to its first berth in a section title at Chino (10-2-1).
Barton’s 69-yard run helped set up a nine-yard scoring pass from Cedric Johnson to Ben Isgar late in the second quarter, putting Centennial ahead to stay, 10-9.
Kyle Muers returned an interception 23 yards for a touchdown to make it 17-9 in the third quarter and Paul Mejia ran 19 yards for a score early in the fourth period.
DIVISION V
Newport Harbor 23, Anaheim Servite 16--Josiah Fredriksen passed 18 yards to Brad LaBass with 50 seconds remaining to give fourth-seeded Newport Harbor (12-1) an upset at Cal State Fullerton.
Fredriksen’s pass, and then run for a two-point conversion, ended a wild fourth quarter; Newport Harbor held a 7-0 lead after three quarters.
